Longer Days

Relief won’t come until you’ve fought alone

I love going under to fix my fractured bones

My promises shattered under your laughter

But I can handle it writing the next chapter

I’m done lying for reason to kill my demons

The papers were signed as an agreement

I want to build a life that is proudly mine

All those years didn’t actually move time

These longer days taught me to survive

Who knew the doctors would be right?

Patience saw the baby steps cure my mind

Now I know it will never be the right time

I jumped off the peak to land on my feet

That’s what happens when strangers meet
