In a moment’s notice, you lose your focus

every time you beg your mind not to notice

the calendar said quit so why can’t you admit?

the evidence of a circumstance, you know it

feelings only come to say where they’re from

you should be proud of who you’ve become

a list of reasons that I read to the demons

they think their presence is a weakness

I went to bed to snuggle the devil instead

the fighting words were only said in your head

I couldn’t serve him if he wished for death

there are scars on my body that never bled

I only write poetry for you to read

I’m not as lonely as you believe
