journal prompt series #7
Since it is now November, it is time to focus on the holiday season. I picked journal prompts that focus on that subject, and YES, I will be putting up my Christmas tree tonight. You don’t have to wait if you’re the only one in the house (hopefully Mable will approve).
Describe 2025. What has it meant to you? What have you done?
2025 has been the biggest transformation that I have ever been through. My life has completely changed because of the work and dedication I had in 2025. I am finally working again, I got a new car, I renovated my condo to become my home, and most importantly, I got Mable. Every day in 2025 has been a day I grow more, and although I wouldn’t want to do it again, I’m excited to see how I’ve set myself up for 2026.
What holidays or annual traditions are important to you?
For Thanksgiving, it has to be the food. Most recently, we’ve been spending Thanksgiving in Texas and the food is just to die for. Except my favorite part is that everyone is together from all sides of the family. For Christmas, it’s a little more chill. Growing up, we would spend Christmas Eve at one house and Christmas day at another. Now, I pretty much do the same thing. It’s really important for me to give holiday love to everyone. Our family also does a chocolate and book exchange which is super cute.
What is the best gift you’ve ever received? Why was it so great?
At the time, the best gift I ever received was my sliding cell phone that my Dad got me in middle school and I broke it in the same day (he got me another one). But looking back, the best gift I ever received was my Bible with my name engraved because I still have it to this day and use it EVERY DAY.
Are there any parts of the holidays that are hard or difficult? Explain them.
One part of the holidays that is difficult is remembering the friends and family that are no longer with us. I will always miss Harriet’s donuts and my grandparents always talk about their own. The other hard part is being so far apart from everyone. We have family all over the United States and I wish all of us could be together during the holidays. Either way, we do a good job staying in touch.
What are your plans for 2026?
I now appreciate how far you can go in one year and there’s so much I want to accomplish in 2026. I’d love to finish my fantasy/dystopian book or at least have it in better shape to publish, I want to gain some teaching experience and maybe get a second job doing so, I want to grow at work and maybe become an animal technician, continue growing my blog (HEY), and moving forward in any other ~crazy ideas that I have.
Thanks for listening! And REMEMBER, you can answer these questions, too.
xoxo
